What I purged
In my new life, in my new studio apartment, a lot of furniture is one thing I do not need. I have a storage unit where I can keep family things and other stuff I don't want to get rid of, but I'm trying to minimize what makes the cut.
I love leather top furniture, but I have no particular attachment to these two pieces (unlike my desk, which is in my apartment with me). I've had the coffee table for some time, but it's gotten loose over the years, and is actually probably not really my style anymore. And the end table, although super retro and cool, is definitely not my style.
When it comes down to it, neither piece is my style, nor do I have space for them... so they must go.
What I'll do with them
A month or so ago, I tried to sell these two tables in a community garage sale where I had a booth with my mom. I didn't sell them, but I listed them on Craigslist and I'm still trying. For the time being, they'll live in the storage unit while I continue to go through things. If they still haven't sold by the time I need the space, I'll just drop them off at Goodwill, but I'm hoping they'll bring a little money.
I'm quickly finding that selling on Craigslist is a pain in the ass. I have more and more items listed, and so far only one thing -- my old rat cage -- has sold. I'd love to just have a garage sale and offload everything (or mostly everything) in one day, but 1) I'm not sure I can at my new place, and 2) I'm not sure things would actually sell there either. I'm quickly starting to doubt it's worth it to try to sell something and get some money, when I could just drop it off at Goodwill instead and be done with it.
